Batting options -I offer a few different options for your batting.
100% heavy weight cotton, this batting is the heaviest weight we can use without doing a double batting. If you want a heavy quilt this is the batting for you. It quilts exceptionally well, gives a nice crinkled look and is heavy without being stiff.
Silk batting is very lightweight. This batting is warm in the winter and cool in the warmer months. It is a very breathable fiber. One of the best features about silk is its draping aspects. It's extremely soft an handles laundering extremely well. This batting crinkles well when washed.
Wool has wonderful properties. It resists creases, so when you fold your quilt the wool will bounce back. This batting is not very heavy and will be wonderful to use year round. Wool will give you some crinkling when washed. This batting washes very well.
Double batting is a combination of a cotton poly (80/20) batting on the bottom and an additional layer of wool batting added. This is a typical batting combination used for show quilts. This combination allows for a heavier quilt while keeping the elements of wool, giving you a quilt that is warm in the cooler months and cool in warmer months. One of the incredible features of a double batting is the pronounced quilting. The quilting on double batted quilts literally pops. Double batting does produce a more stiffer quilt, you will not have as much of a crinkled look with washing a double batted quilt.
100% cotton batting comes standard. This batting is a soft mid-weight and washes very well.
Turn around times will vary anywhere between 12-16 weeks.
As your quilt is being made I will be sending you photos of the process and video so you can see what is going on, it's pretty interesting
Care Instructions: Machine wash in cold water, dry on low heat or hang dry. A care instruction card will be provided.
